Peek-A-Boo
Peek-A-Boo is our oldest cat, she was born in early 1996. She is the mother to both "Barn Cat" and "Black and White Cat" (I know, very inventive names...). Whenever we have had a little of kittens we have kept all of them. Living on 5 acers we are able to keep a lot of cats. Right now all of our cats are spayed and neutered. Peek-A-Boo was named after the skier Picabo Street who was popular at the time. Peek-A-Boo has chosen to live at our barn, with her daughter "Barn Cat" they are best friends. She also spends a lot of time in our neighbors barn, which he likes because he wants a "mouser". |
Apple
Apple was adopted from the Humane Society. I saw her in the newspaper, and had always wanted a grey striped tabby. She was the tiniest little kitten ever! When I got to the Humane Society a family with three kids was holding her. I had to stand there for almost an hour waiting for them to decide if they wanted her or not. They took her sister, and told me she was just too timid for their kids. I adopted her, and she has always been a friendly outgoing cat. She has some of the softest fur you will ever pet. Apple got her name because she was nothing but a big, huge, round head, with this tiny little body. She still has a rounder, flater face than most of the cats, she possible has some Persian or Exotic Short hair in her. Also, while I was at the Humane Society there was an adult longhaired grey tabby there. The humane Society was full, and I was very afraid she would get put to sleep. She was so gorgeous and friendly that we got her too. The Humane Society had named her Paris. Because she was an adult she didn't really get along with the other cats. She was living with two kittens in our laundry room when ever we couldn't watch them in the rest of the house. The kittens were always getting trapped behind the dryer, and I couldn't figure out why they would want to go down there. One day I walked in the laundry room, and there was Paris, pushing Apple off of the dryer and trapping her behind it! My Sister in law fell in love with Paris, and Paris choose her too. She would meow like crazy when ever she saw my Sister in law, begging to be pet. So Paris has gone to live with them and gets to be a spoiled only cat! Apple is happy too. Manx cat "Bunny Butt" Everyone asks how Bunny Butt got his name. Basically I had named him "Kit Kat" first, but after having him for a while he just seemed more like a "Bunny Butt" to me. Being a Manx, he has a tail like a rabbit, and it is so funny when he runs, swaying his butt from side to side, he was a "Bunny Butt". All of our kittens are raised in the house until they are old enough to go outside. Bunny was in our home at the same time that we got our Shar Pei puppy "Madison". They would play together so roughly that the Shar-Pai was always covered with scratches. When we put Bunny outside he would try to play with the other cats like this, and would rip out their fur and make them scream and run in fear from him. Because of this he isn't very close to any of the other cats. He is still very friendly to us and the dogs. Click on the "Read more" button below to see more photos. |

Kylee
I got Kylee and her brother Josie together. Kylee is a great mouser, she often walks up to me in the yard and plops a rodent at my feet! She is a very friendly cat, and is obsessed with the dogs. Our dogs are short, and she loves to run under their bellies to get "pet" by them. However, she and my cat Apple are not fond of each other, and have little "spats" now and then Click on the "Read more" button below to see more photos. |

Barn Cat
Barn Cat basically got her name because I could not think of a name for her and her sister. She lives at the barn, so we call her "Barn Cat". She isn't the friendliest cat, and is a little skittish, although from time to time she will let you pet her. She is my second oldest cat, being born in 97. Jax MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT PAGE # 2! Jax is a very illusive cat and it is difficult to get a photo of him. I only have a couple! He was born here on the farm, along with his Brother Jinx. His mom is "Furball". Jax has an interesting story. We got Furball, an orange female cat, and were told that orange females cannot have kittens. After having her for a year and a half, we figured this must be true, or she would have had kittens by now. Then one day I looked outside, and a tiny little orange furball was following Furball! She had two male kittens outside in the brush, below a hedge or rose bushes. They were probably only four weeks old. The only way I could catch them was to set up a trap, and put their mother in it so they would go in after her, and I could catch them. One was caught after a few short hours, although it took a day and a half to catch the other. We kept them inside our house for over 6 months, until they could be neutered. I figured I may never catch them again if I put them outside, and I didn't want to take the chance of having un-neutered cats running around. Jinx actually became very friendly, and loved to be pet. Jax would put up with it, but wasn't as excited about humans. Once Jax was put outside, we have never been able to touch him again, although he is a gorgeous cat to look at. His mother was spayed, and we found out that it isn't true that orange females can't have kittens!! Click on the "Read More" button below to see more photos. |
